Roman Vrtiška (*1982) and Vladimír Žák (*1980) met while studying at the Academy of Fine Arts, where they began their collaboration. Together they also completed an internship at Alvar Aalto University in Helsinki, where their work was awarded several times. After graduating, they became part of the emerging fresh generation of Czech designers characterized by a wide range of interests and a professional approach to work. Since then, they have been among the sought-after and respected creators. The founders of the Prague studio Vrtiška & Žák with more than a decade of tradition (founded in 2009) are united by diligence, a desire to overcome challenges and the ability to see potential even where to others remain hidden. Their work covers a complex of areas from product design to interiors and architecture, from craftsmanship to industrial scale. Creativity and unconventional thinking are essential values for the development of their work.design.

| Description | The reform is based on a redesign of the modern bench archetype in the form of concrete legs and a wooden seat. Our aim was to elevate the iconic form of the park bench and give it a more contemporary look. This is how the Reforma collection was created, based on organically softly shaped concrete legs and contrasting wooden slats forming the seat and backrest.The series includes classic straight benches with a full or split backrest, as well as a fully backless variant. The latter is also represented in the form of modular elements, which can be assembled in long rows or in an arc or circle, or installed on a wall. Massive concrete bases in two shades connected by wooden slats made of hardwood or thermally modified wood. All auxiliary steel elements are galvanized, powder coated or stainless steel. The bench can be anchored into the surface. |
